Brabant Lace won 2nd Prize!

A few months ago I decided to submit my small lace painting Brabant Lace to a magazine competition. International Artist magazine holds painting competitions in every bi-monthly issue and publishes the winning paintings with feature articles. I was very surprised to find out that my entry won the 2nd prize!

In the October/November issue of the magazine all the winning paintings are featured, together with some text about inspiration and working method.  Along with the pleasure of having my work published in the magazine, my prize is a 2-page feature in American Art Collector magazine which should be out in November. I will keep you posted!

  1. Dear John, thank you so much for your wonderful comment! It is brilliant to hear my work inspires you to do yours. I had a look at your work and really love your pen and ink drawings. I have a soft spot for architecture and you draw them beautifully. Thank you for stopping by. Good luck with your work! Sophie

  2. Firstly, congratulations on your ell deserved success in the competition.

Secondly, you are inspirational to an old, new painter, thank you. I’m a pen & ink artist who, at 77, has been persuaded to try painting and I’ve now done 50 paintings. I find your website exciting and it inspires me to press on
