Welcome to the Useful Things!

On these pages I want to share products and services that I think might be useful to my fellow artists.

I have used and tried the products and businesses on these pages and think you’ll enjoy them too. I will only recommend products and services that I have tried, know and like myself.

These pages are being updated regularly so do check back regularly.

Some of these links are affiliate links. I will earn a small commission if you purchase via these links, at no extra cost to you. If you do this you will help to keep my blog sustainable and show your appreciation. I have tried and tested these services and products and only list them if I think they can be useful to you.

Art Supplies Shops

Jackson’s Art Supplies. The shop that has it all. I get all my art supplies from here. Paper catalogues and various shops in London besides their extensive website. (Aff. link).

Pegasus Art. Wonderful shop in Stroud, which has art studios and workshops on site. Helpful people, useful website, free parking.

Cass Art. Chain of shops throughout the UK with a good selection, but of course much more online. I use the Bristol shop now and then and have used them online as well. Nice for a browse. There is a Cass Art right at the back of the National Portrait Gallery in London.

Computer Stuff

Artwork Archive. After trying various database programs Artwork Archive is the one I went for. It is a subscription service with all your data safely stored in the cloud. Greatly tailored to artists with all the boxes ticked. Visually pleasant to work with too and wonderful customer service. Get 20% off your first year if you sign up via this link. (Aff.Link)

Weebly - Websites, eCommerce & Marketing in one place.

Weebly. One of my favourite website builders. Easy to use without needing to know coding; simple drag and drop method. Been with them for years.

Mailchimp. Easy to use, lots of help articles, design templates and free until you are huge. Ideal place to set up a mailing list and create newsletters.

WordPress. Free, open resource website software with endless possibilities.
