The BP Portrait Award 2014 exhibition is coming to an end at Aberystwyth Arts Centre in Wales in 2 days time. The exhibition, which opened in June 2014 and included my BP Travel Award works, has travelled from London’s National Portrait Gallery to Sunderland, Edinburgh’s Scottish National Portrait Gallery,  and now is at its final stop in Wales.

The past year has been a whirlwind of exciting and interesting developments. It was amazing and even somewhat emotional to see my work hung so beautifully at the National Portrait Gallery and the other venues. It has opened doors for me and invited some lovely comments from visitors to the exhibition. I am very grateful for having experienced all this. The new crew is is waiting in the wings, however, and ready to take over with their works in the upcoming exhibition of the BP Portrait Award 2015. I have already seen a few of the works and the shortlist was recently announced and it looks fantastic. I will always feel a bit of a connection to the show and the Portrait Gallery.  Before we pass on the baton to the class of 2015, I thought I’d share some of the pictures that the people of Aberystwyth Arts Centre were so kind to share on their facebook page. If you haven’t seen the exhibition, then you have until Saturday 30 May!
