Pastel Society Exhibition

Yesterday I went to London and visited the Pastel Society’s annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries. My painting ‘Two Cushions’ has been selected by the judges to feature alongside members and non-members work.

The exhibition is huge, with hundreds of wonderful paintings in pastel and other dry media such graphite and charcoal.  The show offers a rich variety of styles, subjects, size and prices. My painting was hung in the North Gallery – a lovely space, but unfortunately a little bit overshadowed by some very big and colourful pieces hung directly above it. But perhaps their strong colours and shapes contrast and enhance my small and quiet painting? In any case, the exhibition is really worth seeing. There is some wonderful work on show. Nearly all works (including mine) are for sale.

For a good review of the exhibition do visit Making a Mark Blog.  The exhibition is on until 7 March. Tickets £3.
